Audition for Younger Generation!

Auditions for Collin County area students in 4th through 8th grade and the more senior choir in 9th through

the 12th grade are held twice a year.

Auditions last approximately 10-15 minutes. You must have an appointment in order to audition.

Call the YG Office at 972-439-9037 to make an appointment.

Audition procedures are listed below:

You will need to come prepared to demonstrate your vocal and musical abilities by:

Listening to rhythm patterns and clapping them back
Singing scales and/or arpeggios (The sounding of the tones of a chord in rapid succession rather than simultaneously.) as played by the director
Singing a duet of Row, Row, Row Your Boat with another singer, staying on an individual part
Listen to melody patterns and singing them back
Sing a prepared solo song, a-cappella. This should not be a pop or rock song, but a well-known song, hymn, or selection from musical theater or school.
Answer questions about music reading (note values, etc.) [this is for the director's information]
